The Birthday Curse

I hate birthdays. I really really really really really really really hate them. They all end the same for me disappointed and hurt.

It's one thing when your friends forget, but Family? Let's count who forgot my birthday this year, My Father, My grandmother on my fathers side, My Mom's dad and wife (Grandpa and Grandma B, they did call on the date but didn't even get me a card they got something for my grandfathers exwife but not for me, this is 2 years running this has happened) All my aunts and uncles on my dad's side (so every member of my family on my dad's side except one Aunt who wished me Happy Birthday on Facebook), 1 aunt on my mom's side.

My Aunt on my mom's side that did remember my birthday forgot to even sign the card until the last second so I had to wait while she filled it out to get it and then my other Aunt gave me some cash and then later threw an unsigned card to me telling me I could reuse it. My mom got me a card and ballons then promised to buy me something when we went shopping, however she never did and probably never will as she has done this several times. In fact many members of my family have done this.

I got no cake, no party and no one sang me happy birthday. And for me this was not a bad birthday. I went out w/ friends and had a good dinner. My friend made me some cheese cake, so I guess I did get a cake.

This is how it always is. Nearly every year.

However the rare chance it is not completely sucky bad things always happen after. When I was 6 I had my only real childhood party, friends from school, themed cake and decorations and I got everything I wanted.... A week later I was suddenly shipped of to my grandparents for a couple weeks and when I came back all of my dad's stuff was out of the house. Then my parent's sat me down and told me they were getting a divorce. Or when I was 16 and had a great party, then 2 weeks later my parent's took back the car they bought me because my step dad's car died and I then had to explain that to every girl in my HS practically...

What brought this on? Just went to my little cousin's/Grandmother's family birthday party. My one grandmother that is big on birthday's kept asking about what happened with mine and what did I get.... And it was sort of depressing... Then on the ride home my mom turns to me and says that I have the worst birthdays of anyone she knows... Thanks Mom....

So I decided I am no longer celebrating birthdays. Next year I am turning off my phone and going camping by myself in the middle of the woods where no one can find me. Including my birthday curse.

I am 23 today... I do not like this. I like 22. 22 was fun and free. 23 is full of responsibility's that I do not like. Such as the car insurance I have due on the car that arrives TODAY.

Alack, I can not stop the passage of time nor the money ~~speeding~~ flying out of my bank account >8(

On the good news front my friends are all coming down tonight and we're going out >8) And I got balloos from my mom and a shopping trip >8)

Ugh! So I'm waiting to hear back from the car insurance lady about how much my insurance is going to cost. I had absolutely no clue what I should get coverage wise so I'm talking to my mom's Agent who I also used to work for once upon a time for like 2 weeks. However she is taking forever to get back to me and I need to know!!!!!!

Depending on how much it cost's I may be getting a new iPhone 3G S. I need a new phone no matter what mine is held together w/ Scotch Tape at the moment and going down hill fast (no longer rings or vibrates, it is now permanently stuck in silent, track ball only works about 10% of the time, when talking to people it cuts in and out, the battery cover no longer clips in place...) But price of insurance means the difference between 8GB 3G and 32GB 3G S... Get back to me insurance lady!!!!!!! Please please please!!!! I want to hopefully Preorder my phone by the end of the day so I get it on FRIDAY!!!!

It's so lovely and I am completly obsessed. I literally have been reading every bit of info I could find on what they think it will be like (the new one is being released on friday so no reviews out yet). I spent 2 days picking out a case for it.... I literaly can think of nothing else... I need like therapy or something. It's just so cool and I want to hear back for the Insurance Lady so I can buy it!!!!!!!!

Edit: Minutes after I posted she got back to me! Kinda like when you leave the table to use the restroom and your food shows up at a restaurant. My insurance was cheaper then I thought so I'm splurging! I ordered a 32GB iPhone 3G S!!! I am so so so so so so so Excited! It arrives Friday and I need to be home to sign for the package so I'll be on pins and needles all day of course!

Disclaimer: Not mine of course.... Le sigh....

Some days it is good to be me… Speed thought as he leaned in the doorway to the garage.

His lover was working on his ‘baby’ seemly oblivious to his observer. He had a deep look of concentration on his face as he work, relaxed yet focused it was one of Tim’s favorite expressions. Blue eyes narrowed as he worked on cleaning out a small part and then putting it back in place. He was wearing old grease stained t-shirt that had surely gained a few more stains if his grime coated hands were anything to go by.

He had spent the entire day working on her, letting all his worries go and just focusing wholely on each task as he worked. Speed knew well what it was like to be under that intense scrutiny, too feel like you were the only thing in the world that mattered at the moment.

He bit back a chuckle as Horatio pushed his hair back from his face then wrinkled his nose in disgust realizing he’d smeared grease in his hair. How he wished his love got more days like this. Long sunny afternoons where crime didn’t call him back into the office and memories didn’t spoil the moment. Part of him didn’t want to disturb him but dinner was ready and he was tired of sharing his lover with the car for the day.

“Dinner’s ready,” Tim murmured crossing the room and dropping a gently kiss on the top of Horatio’s head. Horatio tipped his head back smiling at his lover and giving him his absolute favorite expression, pure unadulterated love; it hit him straight in the chest every damn time.

“It’s probably cold by now, you’ve been watching me for awhile,” Horatio observed eyes shining with amusement.

“What can I say, it’s a great view and stuck it in the oven to stay warm.”

Horatio nodded as if he’d known that the whole time. “I need to wash up first, I got a little messy,” he grinned a little self depreciatingly.

“Yes you did,” Speed said rubbing at a smear of grease on his forehead.

Horatio grinned wickedly up at him and Speed suddenly had a feeling he was in for it, “I might need some help cleaning up, you up for the job Mr. Speedle?”

Speed grinned and Grabbed Horatio’s hand leading him back into the house, some days it really was good to be him.

good news bad news

Ok bad news first. H's video card has offically died. I'm going to try a few tricks I've learned when they tried to fix it before but... I doubt it will work.

Good news. Dell is sending me not just a new video card but a whole new mother board. It should be here Tuesday and a tech should call me in the next few days to come to my house and fix t computer! So by Friday H should have some brand spanking new parts and be all fixed up! Yay!

I'll try and keep in touch via my blackberry but we'll see how that goes. As my cell is dying and held together by scotch tape at the moment.

Crap-tast-ic day

So I had a very very very very very very very very very very very bad day. I am now going to share it with you all.

First I had to work alone for 3 hours today. Normally 3 people on the phone and working the counter all day today just 1. Me. To say it sucked would be putting it mildly.

Then I had an eye exam. I paid $50 the doctor spent 15 minutes with me then tell me I don't need glasses. I have been wearing glasses for the last 6 years. When I asked her about this she told me that sometimes eyes heal themselves.

I got out of the eye exam in time to catch the 6:54 bus I still had 10 minutes so I walked around the mall got out there at 6:50 to find I had missed the bus. Apparently starting last Wednesday they are on a new schedule and they have not updated it online yet.

The next bus came at 8:15.

I then had to walk 6 blocks to get home. In the dark. While it was raining. It wasn't until I stepped off the bus into the rain that I remembered I left my umbrella at the optometrist's.

I got home at 8:45 to a hyper barking like mad dog. I changed came down stairs and turned on my lap top. The video driver crashed again. 45 minutes later I have it up and running.

It has been a long crappy crappy day and I only have one thing to say.

FML.

July 16th 1996- February 21st 2009

Ginger was a ball of energy from the day I got her for my 10th birthday. She was also a Bitch. She liked very few people and only tolerated me sometimes. In the last few years she'd mellowed slightly but she was still the feisty vocal cat she always was. She would hold conversations with you and always had to have the last word. She loved to chase lights and crawl in paper bags and jump out at unsuspecting passer byers. She also was always trying to escape to the great out doors and succeed a few times, but she always came back home. She loved to hunt and I cannot tell you how many times I went to feed her in the morning and found a "present" by her food bowl. 12 years was to short but she was half wild so maybe that was why she got so few years. I'll miss you very much kitty kitty, give em hell.

New Years Resolutions

I figured it would help them along if I you know actually wrote them down somewhere.

1) Exercise more. Real exercise not walking the dog 2 blocks.

2) Eat healthier. Less takeout

3) Cook more. Healthy food once again.

4) Get More Organized. CLEAN OUT THE ATTIC!!!!

5) Quit smoking. 100% of the time no exceptions even when I've had a few drinks.

6) Save Money. Buy Car.

7) Update Journal more frequently >8)

9)Do something with my jewelry. Take it to another Gallery, sell it online, just something.

10) Slack off less at work. Pretty self explanatory.

3) Rory Cochrane. I first saw him in Empire records, but what got me hooked as strange as this is is the movie Dazed and Confused, he was my favorite part of the movie. I saw he was in CSI Miami and watched it to check him out.

Over all not an awful list A lot of books I want to read on the list.... Time to get reading >8)
